| 10th-12th grade students will get discounted sports marks |
Education: School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad informed that it was decided to give concession marks to 10th and 12th class students on the basis of their participation in sports competitions.
The Department of School Education has taken various measures to ensure that regular education of school children is not disrupted due to abnormal conditions caused by corona. Examinations for 10th and 12th standard students are being conducted in the prevailing manner against the backdrop of declining incidence of corona.
In the case of students appearing for the Certificate Class X examination in secondary schools, the participation of students in Class VII and Class VIII in sports competitions should be taken into consideration and they should be given concessional sports marks for the year 2021-22.
Gaikwad also directed the Secretary of State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education to give concessional sports marks for the year 2021-22 considering the participation of students of class IX and X in sports competitions in case of students appearing for Class XII examinations.
